Trafficking Awareness Month
Social Media Toolkit
This toolkit is designed to make social media participation as easy as possible for Human Trafficking Awareness Month (HTAM). These are suggested captions for the provided images, they are not required to be used. If you choose to post just an image and no caption that is perfectly fine, the options are there if you need or want them.
Background:
January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month. We encourage you to join us throughout the month as we come together to increase awareness of human trafficking. We want Blair County to #StandUpAgainstTrafficking by using social media to join our efforts. This toolkit provides images, infographics, and captions from a number of sources for you use on your social media profiles during HTAM.
Social Media Captions:
Traffickers use force, fraud, or coercion to lure victims into labor or commercial sexual exploitation. January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month, a time to share information about trafficking in order to effect change that will ultimately end human trafficking. #EndHumanTrafficking #HTAM
It’s not like you see on TV or movies, trafficking can happen in small towns, to anyone. Blair County stands up against human trafficking. #EndHumanTrafficking
We end human trafficking with prevention. Learn the signs of human trafficking, know who to contact for help and understand what you can do to make your community a safer place.
If you think you’ve encountered a victim of human trafficking, call the Victim Services Helpline at 814-944-3585. In addition to listed indicators, helpline advocates can help with other signs or identification. This helpline could also help you connect victims/survivors with available resources and connected to appropriate law enforcement authorities.

Our work to end human trafficking does not end in January. This issue continues and the work to end and prevent trafficking should continue as well. Together we can end human trafficking.
